Tags: Usain Bolt , Fastest Man at Delta Force

We were proud to welcome Usain Bolt - the world's fastest man - back to one of our Delta Force paintball centres for another day of high octane fun.

Bolt previously played paintball with us in 2012 and vowed to visit us again in the future for a repeat experience. This time around Bolt even decided to bring along his Aussie sprinter friend John Steffensesn and four Jamaican companions, all eager to compete in our famous paintball battle zones.

On this occasion Bolt opted to wear armoured gloves, body armour and a special operations tactical vest; in addition to the full head safety goggles and thick combat suit that is issued as standard. Clearly nothing was going to stand in Bolt's path to glory against a team of star struck corporate workers out for a team building experience. You really can never predict who you might be playing against at a Delta Force paintball centre!

Over the course of the day Bolt lived up to his down to earth and friendly reputation, even commenting that "I've never seen a centre like this, we don't get paintball like this in Jamaica". Bolt even demonstrated his sense of humour whilst chatting with Operations Director Seamus Frazer who remarked that "I passed him (Bolt) a standard sized groin guard and he just laughed and asked for a larger one".

You can see Bolt in action in our YouTube video. The video shows Bolt and his team enjoying the Checkpoint Charlie game zone, which features a shot down aircraft and a realistic battlefield complete with sandbags, missile launchers and armoured areas for cover.

As ever, our staff prided themselves on delivering top notch customer service and worked hard to ensure the world's favourite track legend left with a smile on his face.

What do I need to bring on the day?

Players should wear old, comfortable clothing and may also want to bring a change of clothes for the conclusion of the game. We strongly recommend boots with ankle support and deep tread/rubber soles - it can be muddy, wet and slippery in the woodlands. Paintball gloves are available to buy at the centre, or you can bring your own. You may also want to bring some money for purchasing additional paintballs (we accept cash and credit/debit cards verified by PIN only)

Can I bring my own paintball equipment?

You can bring your own paintball equipment, but it is always at the discretion of the Centre Manager as to whether you can use it. You can bring your own combat gear, paintball goggles, body armour, gloves and other paintball accessories, however due to health and safety regulations you are not allowed to bring your own paintball gun or gas cylinder to the centre.

Is paintball suitable for children?

Parents need to know about the nature of the activity and decide for themselves whether their particular child is hardy and mature enough to participate in this type of activity. To help you with this, we have compiled an "Information to Parents" guide, which can be included in your information pack or requested from our friendly staff by calling 1800 246 200 (Calls are charged at Lo-Call Rate). To make paintball more appropriate for children, Delta Force Ireland offer full face helmets, full-length ninja suits and body armour as standard, with padded gloves available for purchase for additional protection.

How do I book a day of paintball?

To book, all you need to do is call us on 1800 246 200 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) and speak to one of our friendly operators to check availability and book your event, alternatively you can email us and we will call you straight back or you can ask us to call you at a particular time, or complete the online booking enquiry form. Another option is to drop in to your nearest Delta Force Paintball centre and speak to the manager at the centre. Please note: it is essential you call in advance and make an appointment to visit your preferred centre.
